I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to an Irish family with the surname of Shanahan. We lived in the suburbs... My great grandmother lived with us and she is the root of many of my special childhood memories. Without fail every Friday after school, she would take my brother and I to go downtown for dinner, a movie and for a special toy from the Five & Dime store. We rode the trolley since neither my grandmothers nor my mother ever drove a car. I attended a strict Catholic grade school, a public high school and then attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I met my husband through a mutual friend when I was 16, married after college at 21. In December we will celebrate our 39th anniversary. After 10 years, we were blessed with our first child, Aaron and 5 years later with our second son Matt. Both of which are college grads and are enjoying very successful careers.
Mansfield became our home in 1984. I worked for Dr. Irving for 22 years before deciding to change careers and open a Minuteman Press print shop. January 2nd will be our second anniversary in business and the Chamber and the Women’s Division has played an enormous role in our success. Through the networking opportunities I have met many new friends and opened many new doors. When I am not working, I enjoy playing bridge and spending time with my family and friends.
