2011 came & went in the blink of an eye! I cannot believe I have to write 2012 now. It’s been a whirlwind of a year personally and professionally for me, and I’m sure it was the same for many of you. I’m excited about the new year and about all of the new things we are doing in the Women’s Division. We have a Social Committee and will host a few happy hours and other socials throughout the year for all of us to interact in a different scene and hopefully get new members in the process! Our New Member Mentor Committee will work hard to get our new members involved and give them a “seasoned” member to work with so that they can know what we are all about as an organization. We’re also bringing back our Girl of the Month award, which honors a high school girl in Mansfield for her amazing accomplishments. Our main focus this year will be on growing our membership and with these new committees, we know that it will be successful!
I know everyone always has New Year’s resolutions they really want to stick to, and if you’re like me, by the third week in January, your life is crazy again and the resolutions go out the window. But, this year, I’m determined to de-clutter my house and get more organized. Thanks to Pinterest (yep, totally addicted!), I found a great calendar that has a task to do each day to accomplish this. Some are small, some are not, but I hope my life will be more organized (well, more organized chaos at least) by mid-year. I have two little girls, work full time and a husband who travels a lot with his job, so my “free” time is precious to me. I hate to use it up getting organized but I’m determined to do it!
Our speaker this month, Sam Davis from Metroplex Adventure Boot Camp, will tell us how to stick to our fit & healthy resolutions (yes, I have that one, too, every year!). So join us to hear about healthy eating, get some grocery shopping tips, and learn some easy exercises to help you shed those holiday pounds!
Please remember, anyone is welcome to bring a door prize. It's a great way to get a "shout out" for your business. Bring extra money for split the pot tickets, too! You never know - this could be your lucky day! Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
I’m looking forward to serving as your president this year and getting to know each of you! Happy New Year!
